Overview
The Goal
Create a unique, playful, and user-friendly e-commerce website for Kilo that embodies the brand's identity and enhances the customer experience. The website needed to reflect Kilo's core concept of selling American-sourced vintage clothing by the kilogram, mirroring the supermarket-inspired aesthetic of their physical store located at 161 Karangahape Road in Auckland, New Zealand. The aim was to seamlessly transition the in-store experience online, providing customers with an engaging, nostalgic shopping experience.
The Challenge
Translating Kilo’s unique concept: selling vintage clothing by weight, into an engaging online experience. Unlike typical e-commerce stores, their quirky supermarket-style shopping, complete with checkout vibes and tactile interactions, needed to be reimagined for the digital space. The goal was to create a platform that retains the fun, familiarity, and functionality of their in-store experience while aligning it with customer expectations for seamless online shopping.
